Home @ The Drawing Room SF

I’ll have 2 images from my series 18 Rue Dugommier in this group show.

January 13-February 11, 2024

The Drawing Room presents HOME  at 599 Valencia Street, a new temporary Annex space and pilot project.

  • Opening Reception: Saturday, January 13, 4-9pm
  • Closing reception Saturday, February 10th at 6pm
    • Cuban Jazz performance (suggested donation $5-25)
  • Artist Talk: Thursday, February 1, 5pm
  • Gallery hours: Thurs-Sun, 11-7
  • Location: 599 Valencia St, SF (map)

The theme of the show is broadly designed to invite works from local artists that address a multitude of issues including the social and physical constructs of housing, immigration, identity and the histories of urban and land development. The theme is also intended to explore what the concept of “HOME” and what it provokes and inspires in each of us; be it emotional, sensory or physical.

Yoko Ono’s first solo museum exhibition in Souther Yoko Ono’s first solo museum exhibition in Southern California, titled Yoko Ono: Music of the Mind, is on view at The Broad in Los Angeles from May 23 through October 11, 2026. I found it very inspiring - like a gushing spring of thoughtful conceptual art ideas.

“They are not accidents. It is a matter of working “They are not accidents. It is a matter of working inside parameters versus outside of them. The process completes itself and has a say in the artistic vision that the artist intentionally sets out.” I hope I did justice to this quote from my notes from the artist. talk by John Chiara. Inspiring Work and an epic commitment to the process. Great to see some old friends here at the event and great to hear some of the behind the scenes secrets after looking up close at these giant images.
I’m so glad to catch this show before it closed. Y I’m so glad to catch this show before it closed. You have four more days to see this amazing and humorous take on how museums create meaning.
