“The X and O shapes become recurring motifs, ref “The X and O shapes become recurring motifs, reflecting the many faces of our collective experience during COVID. As opposites, they capture the tension between contrast and complementarity — the X, with its intersecting lines, is a symbol of both negation and connection. It marks boundaries while also drawing attention to a point of intersection, evoking the push and pull between separation and unity, the distance we kept and the closeness we longed for. The O, in contrast, offers a softer, more continuous form — a symbol of enclosure, containment, and focus. Where the X is about crossing and conflict, the O suggests a holding space, a quiet stillness. Together, these forms complement each other, reflecting the duality of the pandemic’s impact: while some found freedom and creativity in isolation, others suffered mentally and physically. This interplay of shapes speaks to the complexity of those experiences, holding both struggle and transformation within their simple geometry. “
